At present, the global petrochemical industry is at a critical stage of cyclical adjustment, structural reshaping and green transition. Escalating geopolitical conflicts, frequent fluctuations in international oil prices, overcapacity in traditional sectors and insufficient supply of high-end materials, together with low-carbon transition pressure under the “dual carbon” goals, have brought the industry multiple challenges such as high costs, technical bottlenecks and trade frictions.
Meanwhile, the deep integration of digital and intelligent technologies, accelerated domestic substitution of high-end new materials, and the restructuring of the global industrial chain have created new opportunities for innovative breakthroughs and international cooperation for China’s petrochemical industry. Against the profound changes in the global energy landscape and the green and low-carbon transformation of the industry, the forum focuses on leading overseas business expansion through openness and cooperation, and empowering high-quality industrial development with global layout. It builds a cross-border exchange platform to deepen collaboration with global petrochemical giants and enterprises from key markets including the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America, and promotes the orderly overseas deployment of high-quality capacity in integrated refining and chemical production, high-end new materials and other fields. In this context, the 2026 China International Petrochemical Technology Industry Forum is highly timely and significant.
